Characterisation and Life Cycle Assessment of Pervious Concrete with Recycled Concrete Aggregates

The search for environmental preservation and conservation of natural resources gives rise to new concepts viable technical solutions on the path sustainable development. In this context, study’s main objective is analyse influence recycled concrete aggregates (RCAs) development pervious concrete, whose use as a floor covering represents an excellent device mitigate urban soil sealing phenomena. For this, mechanical hydraulic tests were carried out, in addition microstructural analyses assessment its performance. results obtained compared reference studies also involving incorporation aggregates. A pilot-scale case study was conducted, parking space lined with moulded “in situ”. laboratory tests, permeability coefficients strengths compatible literature above normative limit light traffic found. demonstrated higher than laboratory, but flexural strength lower, being indicated only pedestrian traffic. showed that RCA positive contribution performance concrete. Still, attention should be given aggregate transport distance between plant treatment plant.
